​The Brunei Darussalam National Weightlifting Association in collaboration with the Sports School and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports organised the Brunei Youth Invitational Weightlifting Championship. The two-day championship which started yesterday was held at the Sports School.

30 participants from 3 teams, namely the Sports School, Brunei; Sarawak and Sabah Teams participated in the championship. It featured the men's and women's categories of 58 kilogrammes; 65 kilogrammes and 71 kilogrammes. The championship aimed to upgrade weightlifting among teenagers and further develop weightlifting.
